ARE YOU WITH US? These times call for Hope and Healing. This is the 6th year First Parish Chelmsford will participate in the Mother's Day Walk for Peace. Our themes are two lines from our covenant - bearing witness through service to justice and peace, and caring for and being present to one another in our joys and sorrows.
Our chalice is a symbol of many things - the light of hope, the fire of commitment. We have it on our page here surrounded by ittle lights to represent our prayers for Moms who have lost their kids to violence. We walk for Peace together with many other Louis Brown Peace Institute supporters. In Unity there is Healing. Come be a part of it!
The 21st Annual Mother’s Day Walk for Peace: “In Unity, There is Healing: Invest in Peace”
The Mother’s Day Walk for Peace is a celebration of our potential to create more peaceful communities. Every year families from across the state and region walk together toward peace because in unity, there’s healing! Join us on Mother’s Day to demand dignity and compassion for all families impacted by murder.
The Mother’s Day Walk is also the Peace Institute’s most important fundraising event. We’re asking you to invest in community-based solutions to a complex problem. In 2017, our goal is to raise $400,000 for our critical programs and services.
Invest in peace this Mother’s Day - Sunday May 14, 2017!
The Mother's Day Walk for Peace started in 1996 so mothers of murdered children could receive support and love from their neighbors. Twenty-one years later, the Mother’s Day Walk continues to be a powerful way to honor our loved ones who have been murdered and embrace our partners in peacemaking.
All walkers must register. Registration cost this year is $10 per walker, however no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Registration fees go to help us reach our goal of $400,000 to sustain our programs and services.
