Register here to join the King's Chapel team for the 23rd Annual  Mother's Day Walk for Peace.

Last year King's Chapel was honored to sponsor the walk as a Peace Ally. This year we are going to do even better: We have pledged to be a Peace Advocate, and to raise 5,000 dollars towards the work of the Louis D Brown Peace Institute. Donations to the King's Chapel team help the LDB Peace Institute immediately repond to people impacted  by violence, and then enable them to stay with the families on the long journey of healing. It also goes to fund financial help for families who cannot afford to give their loved ones a proper burial, and promotes curriculums to teach peace in schools and in the community.

This walk is a visible way of showing  the families impacted by the unspeakable pain of losing loved ones to  murder and violence that WE CARE. It is a wonderful way of participating in making Boston a better place.

In order to raise our goal we will need everyone in our community to get involved, whether through walking, donating, or asking friends and family to join us.

Help join in to Advocate for Peace in our city and world!

ABOUT 2019 Mother's Day Walk for Peace

Every year in the United States, approximately 15,000 people are murdered. For every homicide victim, there are at least 10 immediate people directly impacted by that loss. It is safe to say each year there are at least 150,000 new survivors of homicide victims dealing with the emotional, physical and financial stress of losing a loved one to a traumatic death such as murder. This is not including extended family members, classmates/colleagues, teachers/students, entire communities. Nor does this number include families who are impacted by a loved one committing a murder. Together we can heal and have an impact.

Rise Up! Walk with us.  The Annual Mother’s Day Walk for Peace started in 1996 so mothers of murdered children could receive support and love from their neighbors. Twenty-three years later, the Mother’s Day Walk continues to be a powerful way to honor our loved ones who have been murdered and embrace our partners in peacemaking. The Mother’s Day Walk is also the Peace Institute’s most important fundraising event. We hope you will help us raise our goal of $400,000 so we can continue to work to tip the scale toward justice for families and communities that are stigmatized by murder.

All walkers must register. Registration cost this year is $10 per walker, however no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Registration fees go to help us reach our goal of $400,000 to sustain our programs and services.
